OCCIPITAL NERVE BLOCK

Last week I spoke with the nurse
at my neurologist's office.
She said that he wants to try
"occipital nerve blocks"
to help me with my headaches.

I had never heard of this treatment before
but since she told me about it,
I have done a bit of research.
It seems, like anything else,
there are many people out there
who would never do it again
but many who have been helped
by it tremendously.

Have any of you ever tried this method
or know anyone who has?
I'd be interested in hearing your experience.

Blessings to all who visit here,
Lynn

  1. I wish I could share something but my mom finally found a combination of blood pressure medication to give her relief.

  2. I have never heard of that before although years ago, I had a series of three epidurals in my neck. The first one went okay, the second one gave me side effects but wore off luckily and the third gave me pain release for years from neck pain. I don't think this helped my headaches though and is probably completely different. If you find out more about it I would love to hear because I have some horrible headaches. Lots of love, Debbie

  3. No advice here, but it certainly is an interesting approach. Wish we could help more.

  4. Hey Lynn!! I've never heard of this, and have to admit that the whole thing makes me a little squeamish, but I think it's worth a try!!

  7. Lyn, I spoke to my sister, who is a nurse, a good one! She has done this procedure on patients before many times. She says sometimes it takes two treatments. It blocks the pathway of the headache. She says you should Go For It! Blessings!
