THIS IS THE YEAR!!

About the middle of December,
my friend, Diana,
from Jazzi's World blogspot
gave me a challenge.

She, her sister and her niece
had challenged each other
to finish unfinished projects.
She invited me to join in
on it with them -
I was amazed at how much
it helped to have this accountability.

So hence the new blog -
it is starting out as a blog
to help me get my life together -
(as if spending more time
on the computer would do that!!)
but I want it to be a gradual
unfolding of changes .

My dogs have a blog
and it's for fun -
I never have liked to have
a picture of myself on it
because I'm not happy
with my body image -
that is one of the changes
I need to make.
I don't look healthy or feel healthy.

So for this year,
I have goals.
But I am breaking them down
into smaller goals -
according to what I've read,
it takes 21 days for a change
to become a habit.

For January 2011,
the new habits I want to acquire
are-
*1. Floss and brush my teeth
every night before going to bed.
*2. Make sure the dishes are
in the dishwasher before going to bed.
*3. Keep my checkbook balanced.

So far - so good.

For the year,
I have bigger goals
that I will share as we progress.
I just needed to get this started today.

Have a blessed day,
Lynn

  1. All kidding aside (from my comment I left at your dog blog)...it is a great idea to write a blog to help us be accountable to all of Blogville and to ourselves. I commend you for keeping up with a 2nd blog as just maintaining one is difficult. So...if you can keep this blog going (and I know you will) you will accomplish all of the personal things in no time!

  4. Ooh, this could be fun - so far we think you have some awesome goals... my hygienist told me that flossing daily is the best thing I could do for my teeth. I try to do it once or twice a day and it really does make my teeth feel much cleaner after flossing and brushing.

I do a pretty good job of getting the dishes in the dishwasher until the hubby starts his endless parade of dishes ALL night long:(

And I hate to admit it, but I am anal about my checkbook - I go crazy if I can't make it balance at the end of the month.

    Can't wait to see more.

  12. Gail says: Best of luck with the goals! I floss while watching the TV, so long as no-one else (except Bertie) is around.
Bertie says: YUK! Tooth flossing. At least she never comes near me with that horrid stringy stuff...

Oh, and yes, be sure to take care of those teeth. That's one of my peep's goals, too.

  14. Okay Lynn, Are we really doing this?? A week ago Sunday I started being more aware of my lousy eatting habits...Well, I knew about them, but just decided to curb them. I'll help you be accountable, if you help me! Our checkbook is always to the penny & the dishes always put away.Check.Check. I need to get down with the flossing at night though. Dr.Oz says that's when we really should do it. Baby steps. x-c

  16. Lynn, I love your new blog. I have read all your post from newest to this first one. Maybe we can encourage each other this year since my goals for the year are so close to yours. I should probably add flossing to my list since it is one of my really big downfalls. I start every time I go to the dentist and it falls to the wayside quickly. Here's to you Lynn!
